Porcelain Veneers in Santiago

Digital veneers in Vitacura with prior design, high-precision fabrication, and minimally invasive preparation.

Porcelain veneers are ceramic laminates 0.3 to 0.5 mm thick that are adhesively bonded to the front surface of the tooth to correct color, shape, alignment, or proportion. Indicated for patients with intrinsic discolorations, minor fractures, diastemas, asymmetries, or wear, they require minimal enamel reduction in most cases.

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic laminates bonded to the front of the tooth to modify shape, color, alignment, or proportion without aggressive reduction. At our Vitacura dental clinic we design them within a fully digital workflow: iTero 5D intraoral scan, CAD smile design with Exocad, in-mouth mock-up trial, and fabrication in premium-grade ceramic. It's one of the most requested treatments by patients from Santiago, Las Condes, and Lo Barnechea who want a real aesthetic change without sacrificing healthy tooth structure.

We work with two ceramic families depending on clinical indication: lithium disilicate (IPS e.max) for cases needing combined strength and aesthetics, and layered feldspathic ceramic when we're after maximum translucency and natural optical effects. The choice isn't commercial, it's clinical: it depends on base tooth color, preparation depth, patient aesthetic requirements, and occlusal context. In the initial consultation we explain transparently which option is best for your case, and why.

Our protocol removes unpredictability. Before any preparation, your smile is designed digitally over professional clinical photographs and 3D models. We produce a physical mock-up that's tried in your mouth so you can see the estimated outcome before approval. Only when you're satisfied do we begin definitive preparations. This approach, inherited from the Digital Smile Design protocol we teach and apply as part of NYU College of Dentistry training, reduces the need for post-placement adjustments to nearly zero.

Tooth preparation is minimally invasive. In most cases veneers require only 0.3–0.5 mm of reduction on the facial surface, and in selected cases we can place no-prep veneers when the design allows. This preserves healthy tooth structure and keeps future options open. Unlike a crown, a veneer keeps most of the original tooth.

Who's a candidate? Patients with stained teeth unresponsive to whitening, minor fractures, diastemas (gaps between teeth), wear, asymmetries, or old restorations that no longer look natural. Not every case qualifies: if there's severe bruxism, active periodontal disease, or significant malocclusion, we treat those first. A poorly indicated case fails regardless of material quality.

Regarding investment, price depends on the number of units, ceramic type, and aesthetic complexity. We don't publish fixed rates because every smile is different, and pricing without seeing the mouth is misleading. In the initial consultation we evaluate your case with clinical photography, digital scanning, and facial analysis, and deliver a detailed, transparent quote including every stage.

The result is installed over 2 to 4 sessions across roughly 3 weeks, with comfortable provisionals in between. Well-made porcelain veneers, with proper hygiene and periodic check-ups, last 10 to 20 years. At Atria Sampaio we maintain long-term follow-up: each case is digitally archived, and if retouches, modifications, or partial remakes are needed years later, we have the original design as reference.

  • No-prep veneer alternative in selected cases

Our Approach

Our porcelain veneer workflow integrates the same tools we use in complex oral rehabilitation cases. We start with a complete facial analysis and protocol clinical photography. We scan your mouth with the iTero 5D intraoral scanner to generate a 3D model without silicone impressions. We design the smile digitally with Exocad software, respecting golden proportions, lip line, facial midline, and your smile type. We fabricate a physical mock-up tried in the mouth, you see it, feel it, and give us your input before any preparation. Only then do we move to the definitive stage: minimal preparations, digital registrations, and fabrication in a premium lab or in the clinic's Primemill CAD/CAM unit when indicated. We cement with a state-of-the-art adhesive protocol to ensure longevity. This digital workflow reduces session count, eliminates silicone impressions, and minimizes time in provisionals. Every case is digitally documented for long-term follow-up and future retouches.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do porcelain veneers cost?

Price depends on the number of units, ceramic type (e.max, feldspathic), and aesthetic complexity. We don't publish fixed rates because every smile is different. In the initial consultation we evaluate your case and deliver a detailed, transparent quote.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With proper hygiene, 6-month check-ups, and untreated parafunctions like severe bruxism controlled, well-made porcelain veneers last 10 to 20 years.

Is significant tooth reduction necessary?

No. In most cases reduction is only 0.3 to 0.5 mm on the facial surface. In selected cases we can do no-prep veneers. This preserves healthy tooth structure.

What's the difference between porcelain and composite veneers?

Porcelain offers greater durability, stain resistance, natural translucency, and color stability over time. Composite is a more economical, conservative option useful for minor changes, but with a considerably shorter lifespan.

Can I see how my smile will look before doing the veneers?

Yes. That's one of the pillars of our protocol. We design your smile digitally and fabricate a physical mock-up tried in your mouth before preparing any tooth. We approve the design together.

Do veneers stain with coffee or wine?

Porcelain is virtually immune to surface staining. What can stain is the adhesive at the margins if hygiene is poor. With proper hygiene and periodic prophylaxis, color stays stable for years.

How long does the veneer process take?

2 to 4 sessions across roughly 3 weeks. During the intermediate period you'll wear comfortable, aesthetic provisionals that let you maintain a normal routine.

Am I a candidate for porcelain veneers?

Patients with stained teeth, minor fractures, diastemas, asymmetries, or old work that no longer looks natural tend to be good candidates. If there's severe bruxism, active periodontal disease, or significant malocclusion, we treat those first. We evaluate your specific case in consultation.

Can I whiten my teeth before veneers?

Yes, and in many cases we recommend it. If you're doing veneers only on anterior teeth, it makes sense to whiten the posterior teeth (which won't get veneers) first, so the final design color matches the surrounding natural dentition. That prevents the contrast from giving away the restorations. Porcelain doesn't respond to whitening gels, so the veneer color is decided at design time and stays stable over time.

How does Atria Sampaio differ from other clinics?

We work with a fully integrated digital workflow: intraoral scanner, CAD design, in-clinic mill, and 3D printing, all on the same team. The academic standard is NYU College of Dentistry, where Dr. Camila Sampaio is Assistant Professor at the Apa Esthetics Advanced Clinical Fellowship and Dr. Pablo Atria directs the Advanced Clinical Fellowship in Operative and Digital Dentistry. Every clinical decision meets the same standard we apply in teaching.
